On September 25th 2015 the United Nations adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals with 169 specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years. The goals are designed “to end poverty, hunger and inequality, take action on climate change and the environment, improve access to health and education, and build strong institutions and partnerships, and more”. The 3rd SDG goal is “Good Health &Well being” and 17th SDG goal is “Partnership for the Goals” which aims at targeted capacity-building to support national plans to implement all the Sustainable Development Goals. As per the objectives, to achieve the short and long term SDG goals of the country, the quality of services provided from all levels of care has to be improved. The first step towards achieving this goal is capacity building of all categories of health care providers. To address the social determinants of health, convergence between various departments at the grass root level is vital.
